Joy.

Through out training camp, domestic ministry, and debrief God has been showing me what true joy is. God has been gently reminding me that joy is not found in circumstances, comfort, or success, it is found in Him. True joy comes in surrender, when I let go of control and trust God with everything. Joy is not tied to anything I do but only to His presence.

Joy is not something I have to earn or achieve, it is a gift. It is the fruit of knowing the One who never leaves, never changes, and never stops loving me. The true joy found in Christ is not based on circumstances. It does not crumble when life feels heavy, when prayers take longer to be answered, or when I feel weak. Instead joy is a deep assurance that I am fully know and fully loved by my Savior. It is peace in the middle of chaos, hope when things feel uncertain, and comfort in the unknown.

True joy is not about pretending everything is perfect, it is about being rooted in someone who is perfect. It is about resting in the truth that Jesus has already won the victory, that my identity is secure in Him, and that I will never walk alone. The more I fix my eyes on Christ the more joy I have. My joy comes from Him, and from him alone.

True joy is so close. It is not hidden in achievement, possessions, or approval. Joy is found in the arms of the One who gave His life for me. The true joy I have in Christ is not just a feeling, it is a foundation, and anchor.

“In His presence there is fullness of joy” – Psalm 16:11
